The Institute of Political Science at the University of Lausanne invites applications for a PhD position in Comparative Political Behaviour (100%).

The position is part of the research project “Democracy and Inequality: Cleavage Transformation and Their Consequences for Participation and Policy.” The project investigates how changes in political cleavages—such as the rise of populism and identity politics—affect equality in democratic systems.
What you will do
Conduct doctoral research (50%) within the project framework
Support teaching activities in methodology and research seminars (30%)
Contribute to research and collaboration between FORS and SSP (20%)
Your profile
Master’s degree in Political Science or related social science field
Strong interest in electoral behaviour and democratic research
Good command of quantitative methods (SPSS, Stata, or R)
Excellent English and French skills
Motivation to develop an innovative doctoral thesis
