The successful candidate will join an international research project investigating how factual information about immigration-related misperceptions influences political attitudes and behaviour. The project focuses on perceptions of immigration policy and attitudes towards democracy among immigrants from non-democratic regimes, using surveys and experimental research designs.

The position includes designing and analysing survey questions and survey experiments in Switzerland and Germany, presenting research at international conferences, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and developing an independent research agenda within the project. The doctoral researcher will be supervised by Dr. Korinna O. Lindemann and Prof. Marc Helbling.

Applicants should hold an excellent Master's degree in political science, sociology or a related discipline and have strong quantitative research skills, experience with R or Stata, and an interest in migration, political behaviour and experimental methods. Applications are open until 21 July 2026.
